The Rotary Club of South Pasadena is a dynamic community of leaders, neighbors, and change-makers united in service, friendship, and purpose. In alignment with Rotary International’s 2025–2026 theme, Unite for Good, and our local focus, Peace – Unite for Good, we are committed to building a more just, educated, and sustainable world.

Through hands-on service and bold partnerships, we advance positive peace, expand access to basic education and literacy, and protect the environment for future generations. By empowering youth, supporting vulnerable communities, and bridging divides, we create lasting impact - starting in South Pasadena and reaching across the globe.

April is Environmental Month in Rotary International—a time to reflect on our shared responsibility to protect the natural world and to take meaningful action within our communities.

At the Rotary Club of South Pasadena, we view environmental stewardship as an essential part of building peace. A healthy environment supports stable communities, protects livelihoods, and sustains future generations. From the forests that regulate our climate to the oceans that connect us all, our natural systems are deeply interconnected.

Forests, which cover nearly one-third of our planet, play a vital role in sustaining life - storing carbon, filtering water, and supporting biodiversity. Yet they face increasing threats from deforestation and climate change. Proclaimed by the United Nations in 2012, the International Day of Forests - celebrated each year on March 21 - reminds us of both their importance and their fragility.

While our club may not directly organize tree-planting initiatives, we encourage our members and the broader community to take part in this simple yet powerful act. Whether planting a tree at home, supporting local greening efforts, or contributing to reforestation programs, each action strengthens the resilience of our environment.

Environmental stewardship begins with everyday choices. We invite our community to take small but meaningful steps: plant native species, conserve water, reduce waste, and support organizations dedicated to protecting our ecosystems. When multiplied across a community, these actions create lasting impact.

This April, we invite you to join us in moving from awareness to action. Together, through service and shared purpose, we continue Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self—and bring our theme to life: Peace – Unite for Good
