2023-2024 Club President
David Morales

Message:

Rotary International has been a successful service organization for 118 years. With over 46,000 clubs worldwide and a membership of 1.4 million, Rotary’s mission statement is: to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.  As your 2023-2024 President, in our club’s 85th year, I am honored to be given the privilege to lead an outstanding club with great members who have carried out Rotary’s mission, while making a difference in our local community, neighboring cities and in other countries.  In my 21 years as a South Pasadena Rotarian, I have taken on different roles in the club to increase my knowledge of Rotary and have learned many leadership skills of our past Presidents, to best prepare me to lead us into another year of Service Above Self.

Scotsman, Gordon R. McInally, is our Rotary International President for 2023-2024. His theme is CREATE HOPE in the WORLD.  What I love about this theme is that it is very easy to apply to any service project. In addition, I have created my club theme to be about “Heroes” this year.  Our own club includes heroes, both men and women, who have dedicated their energy, skills, and time to making a difference in the lives of people, who may not be able to do the same in return for you or others. I would like to see our club help Create Hope in the World for heroes, such as veterans, firemen, policemen, doctors, nurses, caregivers, and teachers. I would like to help parents (heroes to a child) during the holidays that struggle to provide decorations and gifts; and our South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association volunteers (heroes to a city) in decorating the oldest self-built float in the Rose Parade.

My initiatives for the following year include increasing club participation and member recruitment to ensure the long lasting success of service for future South Pasadena Rotarians. Furthermore, I encourage club members to embrace one’s involvement in Rotary and to be engaged in strengthening the club’s future. I urge for an atmosphere for family, fun and fellowship, so we can make this a year to remember.

Yours in Rotary Service

President David Morales and his family during the South Pasadena Fourth of July Parade ('23).
