Our Mission

The Rotary Club of South Pasadena provides an opportunity for community & international service, while building friendships & developing leaders.

What is Rotary?

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 35,000 Rotary clubs.

Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. Pillars of the Club:

The Four Way Test:

Of the things we think, say and do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to ALL concerned?

Does this resonate with you? Are you ready to connect and volunteer with people who share your same values? Sign up for Rotary on our HOME page or visit our MEMBERS page.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Rotary International

As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity.  Rotary will cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture in which people from under-represented groups have greater opportunities to participate as members and leaders.

Fun Fact: Our Club has 100% Paul Harris Fellowship!

A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who has been recognized by Rotary International for their outstanding contributions to the Rotary Foundation, which supports various humanitarian projects worldwide. The fellowship is named after Rotary's founder, Paul Harris, and is awarded to those who have demonstrated a commitment to service above self, Rotary's guiding principle.

Recipients of the Paul Harris Fellowship can include Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike, and they are typically honored for their philanthropic efforts, community service, or significant contributions to Rotary's humanitarian initiatives. The recognition often involves a financial contribution to the Rotary Foundation, which funds programs in areas such as peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention, clean water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education, and economic development.

Becoming a Paul Harris Fellow signifies a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the world and reflects Rotary's ethos of service and humanitarianism.
