Meet the Young Changemakers of Interact

What Is an Interact Club?

Interact Clubs are Rotary-sponsored service clubs for students ages 12–18 that help young people develop leadership skills, serve their communities, and connect with others around the world.

What They Are

Each Interact Club is sponsored by a local Rotary Club and based in a school or community. “Interact” comes from international and action, reflecting the club’s global mindset and service-driven mission.

What They Do

Interact Clubs organize at least two major service projects every year:

1. One local project that benefits their community.

2. One international project that promotes global understanding and goodwill.

Members plan fundraisers, volunteer at local events, support environmental clean-ups, and collaborate with youth in other countries to make a positive impact.

What Students Gain

Through Interact, students learn and practice leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management while developing a lifelong commitment to service. They also gain access to Rotary youth programs such as Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE), and the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Connection to Rotary

Each Interact Club is mentored by Rotarian advisors who guide the students, attend meetings, and help connect them with broader Rotary opportunities. Many Interactors go on to become Rotaractors and eventually Rotarians, continuing their journey of service and leadership.
